Ahmed Barakat Egypt, Partner
Ahmed joined Levari in 2021 as a Partner where he heads up the litigation team. Ahmed holds an LLB from Ain Shams University, English Division and in 2018 received his Masters from Pennsylvania State University. He is an active member of the Egyptian Bar Association.
Ahmed started his career as a corporate lawyer by where he proactively managed and advised clients on commercial and corporate legal matters. He then joined The Egyptian Prosecution Authority where he served in various prosecution offices for six years. During his time at the Prosecution Authority, he engaged in investigations related to white- and blue-collar crimes, tax evasion cases, breach of contracts and trusts, fraud, homicide, and assault cases. He has investigated more than 1,200 cases and reviewed on more than 33,000 reports during his public prosecution service.
Ahmed left the public prosecution service to join the Judiciary in October 2015 and was appointed as a Chief Judge in an appellate circuit in North Sinai and New Cairo Elementary Courts. He specialized and issued judgements in cases involving tax evasions, customs evasions, white collar & financial crimes, real estate, breaches of trusts and various cases under Egyptian laws. Ahmed has contributed to the issuance of over 40,000 judgements.
He is fluent in Arabic and English.
